FC Adhara were established in May 2008 affilliated to the Suffolk FA, and for the first two seasons have plays their games as a Sunday team in the Flare Recruitment Ipswich Sunday Football League.
In their first season Adhara finished 6th (out of 14) in the RM5 Division of the ISFL and were promoted by default to the RM4 division where there again finished 6th.
At the end of the 2009/10 season, F.C. Adhara successfully applied to enter a Saturday side in to the Suffolk and Ipswich Football League (part of the National League System).
